Debian asking to insert cdrom to update?

open a terminal
su
nano /etc/apt/sources.list
put a # in front of the line talking bout cd's (or remove it completely)
close nano
apt-get update
exit

to add the fastest repos for debian
http://blog.mypapit.net/2008/01/find-fastest-debian-apt-get-mirrors-with-netselect-apt.html
